Before the cage can go in, last minute prep!

Before the physical cage can go in, the gussets welding points have to be prepared so that Jason can start the actual cage.

Here’s Danny taking off excessive amounts of metal. The metal is in the way and we need a smooth surface.

He’s chiseling the metal off.

It’s not quite weight reduction but it clears the path for the cross bar. The Redline Time Attack rules states we can remove excess metal that is in the way of the roll cage.

The removal of the metal left some nasty residue so Danny used a grinder to remove it.

After an hour of hard work, it looks like this. Nice and ready for the gussets to be welded.

Here’s Jason’s mock up of the gussets and the base. Should be great once things get rolling.
