Here are some crappy pics from Danny’s First Magazine Photoshoot

So an old friend of mine, Eric Eikenberry contacted me about shooting Danny’s STi for international magazines from Australia and the UK. Now, I didn’t have my crappy point and shoot camera with me so instead I took pictures with my super crappy iPhone and here’s what they looked like behind the scenes. Of COURSE, Eric’s images were FAR better than mine and when he showed them to us we were blown away. I can’t wait to see them on my screen!

I know, some of you guys are shocked to see stickers on Danny’s Car. Luckily, we put them on when he wasn’t looking and he gave the whole “eh, oh well” look so I guess that means he’s cool with it.

Our friend, Ryan aka Kettle knows people. People at the local Airport… so he got us in without any hassle. Eric, in the red hat, scoped out some nice spots around the airport.

Danny’s car looks amazing. The background of the mountains made the shoot much nicer.

Engine bay shots that will look amazing later.

During our shoot, this guy in this hot tercel kept on staring at us. Maybe he was looking at Danny’s luxurious hair.

I leave you with this image of Gino in a classic phone booth. I didn’t know that these things existed still.

New items from Buddy Club, Bridgestone, and Rotora for our WRX!

Well, before we show you all images of our car at SEMA, I wanted to show you how our generous sponsors from Buddy Club, Bridgestone, and Rotora helped out finishing up our Race WRX!

Our friend, Loren from Rotora contacted us last week and asked if we could run his new Race Purpose Super Challenge brakes from Rotora. These fully loaded forged brake calipers with 6 piston front and 4 piston read will give us the stopping power that we need! The fronts were provided with 14 inch rotors! They’re HUGE!

Kevin and Jerry over at Buddy Club sent us a Buddy Club care package for our WRX. They got us the P1 Racing wheels with Black and red stripes, Buddy Club racing seats, and their super low seat rails.

To top off the combo, our friend Rod from Bridgestone sent us another set of 255/35/18 Potenza RE11-R tires! Looks great! More updates to come and our finale at the show!

Danny’s STi featured on Spocom USA’s website!

For those who have been coming to the shop for the past two years (and we thank you) you’ve seen Danny’s STi change from a mild mannered 400whp street car into a show stopping monster. We had the honor of getting Danny’s STi featured on SPOCOM USA’s website!

Most of us are quite happy building our cars up to race spec for running at the local track on weekends, dropping a couple thousand to make them feel more race ready and have some fun chasing the lower numbers.  There are, however, a few select rides that, while touting thousands less in terms of horsepower, offer more than enough performance and agility for the real world, making them authentic sports cars and not merely pretenders.  A prime example is the 2006 Subaru WRX STi, a made-for-the-street version of an Impreza rally car.  Subaru uses the hair-raising rally environment as a testing ground for the STi destined for your driveway.  The result is an extremely capable sedan that will do its part to hustle its master between home and work, yet begs for its 400 turbocharged horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque to be unleashed on pavement.  Danny Reyna’s WRX is fast, powerful and handles like a dream.  Take a sneak peak at this STi’s modifications.

Danny’s hard work and the Apollo Performance’s crew help has really paid off and it shows. This is not the last feature of Danny’s STi. There is a huge announcement that will be coming up soon so keep your eyes peeled! Meanwhile make sure you visit SPOCOM USA’s feature of Danny’s STi!

Danny gets Big Brakes… well, he already has the STi big Brakes but he wanted something baller. Read on.

So Danny is a happy boy today as he is putting on some baller big brakes from Project Mu.

“Guys, you can’t handle the ballerness of these brakes!” said Danny as he smiles and puts in rotors.

Here’s the stock brakes removed off of the hub. Danny then slapped on the brakes.

The passenger side off of the donor car going onto Danny’s car.

What compliments a set of sweet TE37’s? Project Mu Brakes!

Oh hai there. We’ll be showing this car at the IDRC this weekend! Check it out there!

SpoCom Coverage with Apollo Performance

Recently we were at the Long Beach SpoCom show and we featured our 3 demo vehicles!

Yukio’s Wagon was in attendance at the show featuring the Bridgestone RE-11 Tires, Buddy Club P1 Racing wheels, and the Apex’i suspension.

Gino’s WRX made a rare appearance at a show rather than being at the track to showcase the GT4088 Garrett Turbo and a built motor! We had many people come up to us and ask us about the power output and many were impressed!

Of course the bigger winner, Danny that came in with a 2nd place Best Subaru of the show win!

Apollo Performance at S3: Subaru Summer Solstice!

We just got back from San Diego where the 2nd Annual S3: Subaru Summer Solstice was held and boy did we have a great time! Before we arrived in San Diego we met up with our friend Mike from UsVersusThem for a bit of a shopping spree (more on that later) and we displayed our cars at the Active Board Shop where he was featured.

This is S3’s second year and our very own Yukio was one of the organizers of the event along with shop friend, Sashin. It was great to see the amounts of people and vendors that came out. Even competing, local shops even displayed next to each other with out any drama. That’s how it should be!

Gino’s WRX received a lot of attention and great positive feedback at our display at S3!

Scott from Koyo Radiators came by and snapped pictures of Gino’s WRX. Thanks for the love, Scott!

Gino had a bit of a pep talk with the Garrett GT4088 Turbo… “Let’s make more power!”

Gino was happy about the set up and this was its only 2 major display we have had with the WRX!

Yukio’s WRX also shared the booth spot with Gino featuring his newly installed side skirts and front APR Performance Splitter.

Again, Scott from Koyo showed up and showed some love!

Danny also entered his STi into the show! It made a lot of buzz.

In fact, so much buzz that Danny won “The Essence of S3 Award!”

Danny’s STi got some love from Scott at Koyo Radiators too!

Shop friend, Ruben took a picture with the World Famous Jeri Lee… so did Tommy but he was too busy pwning people on his game.

Here’s Cliff’s car. We worked on his car as well!

In our booth we featured the NX Energy Drink brand, Turbo Smart, UsVersusThem, and Bridgestone Tires who have been very supportive in our efforts along with all of our other sponsors. Overall, we had a great time! We can’t wait till next year!

Break in Dyno day for the Red WRX at FSR Motorsport Creations!

It’s great that things are starting to come together. For those who have been with us since day 1 on the Red WRX’s build know that this was probably the most difficult build that we had ever had to deal with. However, this car has really brought people to us (and vice versa) that are willing to help out to make it successful.

That’s where our neighbors, FSR Motorsport Creations came into the picture. They offered us their AWD Dyno to break in our car. The motor was fresh and it had to be properly broken in and Ian and Eric made sure it was done appropriately.

We stood by to watch our ‘baby’ getting broken in.

Tyler going into a random port-o-john that was in the parking lot.

Here’s when things got sketchy. Our Red WRX  had a hard time getting on and off the trailer and because we didn’t have the ramps with us to help get the WRX back on the trailer, well, we drove the car on the street for a quick 1/2 mile drive back to Apollo Performance. The car is registered and insured, but we weren’t prepared to do this. We took the chance and drove it.

It was quite a sight to see a full our race car behind me while I was driving on the street.

Luckily we made it out in once piece. Thanks to the great guys at FSR Motorsport Creations for their support!

With all this stuff going on this month already (Oil rig fire, Arizona immigration law, nutty weather) but we haven’t forgotten the people who have supported us from day one, our loyal customers! Danny’s STi newest Update: Wider TE37’s and Voltex Goodness

So I teased about the arrival of Danny’s new wider, more concave TE37’s. Well here they are on the car.

Danny’s STi is a no short cuts kind of cars. Volk TE37’s running 18×9.5 with a +22 offset and 225/40/18 Yokohama Advan Neovas. Baller, yes? Flush, you betcha.

Voltex Wing came in for Danny. In this nifty box sits one of the most highly engineered wing!

Not only the wing came in but Danny now can install this wing base that is specially made for the STi!

The stock STi wing usually punches a lot of holes in the trunk. The Voltex wing base allows all these holes to be covered up. Danny drilled holes on the edge of the trunk as you can see here.

The mounts are second to none along with all the hardware.

Here’s Danny making the NRG Voltex wing official.

See the quality of the carbon fiber?!?! Freaking amazing.

Stickers now on!

Wide!

Need I say more?

Ballllin! Danny gets his Yokohama Neova tires and Volk TE37’s!

So about 3 months ago we all laughed at Danny for ordering special order only TE37’s from Volk Racing. They had to be made in Japan. Well, he shut us up when they arrived.

Yeah, seeing these wheel made me tear just a little bit. They’re 18 x 9.5 +22. Aggressive, yes! We can’t wait to see these bad boys on Danny’s ride!
